On September 22nd, Harris County’s Auditors website experienced a glitch erasing all the vendor payment data precariously beginning in March of 2020 and carrying through present day. Adding onto the ongoing technological problems the County have faced since the Democrats fired experienced CIO Bruce High in a contentious 3-2 party line vote. Replacing High with Major General Rick Noriega, who had no experience running a technological department, but had run in a campaign against John Cornyn. Since the onboarding of Rick Noriega, Harris County has experienced a multitude of issues with the technological systems. The most egregious being the release over 200 inmates due to "computer problems" in which Director Noriega has still yet to answer how the incident occurred.

On Wednesday the 22nd, the Auditors Website was missing all payments to the Catholic Charities, and only documented several payments to BakerRipley. Thankfully, I had saved the former payments to BakerRipley from a previous article…. Here you can see how much the County has paid out to BakerRipley even after being made aware of the missing funds from the audit. The audit was performed by GuideHouse LLP in which the County paid $580 thousand to conduct said audit.
When I reached out to the Auditors department, I was informed that they had been made aware of the “technical issue” and that Universal Services had a meeting over the 2-years of deleted vendor payments. Universal Services (tech) department still have not responded and the lines were on hold throughout the day.
